Austrian Government continues to recognise BASI 2 qualification
A couple of UK citizens holding a BASI 2 qualification have been recognized by the Tirol authorities during the month of March.
The information would not be of such importance before Brexit but in given circumstances it shows that Austria has clearly enforced the Directive and terms of the Withdrawal Agreement in recognizing on 2 occasions BASI 2 qualification holders who declared before the end of Brexit transition period.
What will now be the position of Austria after Brexit ? If you are willing to declare your qualification in Austria for recognition, be aware that the Directive no longer applies and that national rules prevail.
Another question is : will France and Italy also continue to enforce the Directive for pre-Brexit informants ? Wait and see in the coming months ...
