Be prepared to hear about NOSC!
Yesterday evening, Track and Flow went to Lyon at the NOSC Event, located in the pop-up store shop (YLLE), ending soon.
In a relaxed and minimalist atmosphere, NOSC introduced us the brand new wild short, first of its range. This product gathers the best brand’s technologies, still linked to the eco-responsible side. Indeed, the short has been developed thanks to Ricin oil and recycled materials, for an absolute comfort for users, those innovations were already applied for instance to NOSC socks. Ski freeride/hiking/touring and paragliding movies were being played during the event as well, offering beautiful landscape images with an environmental touch for Nature and/or adventure lovers.
Moreover, NOSC decided to be different by its capacity to combine technicality and ecological responsibilities in the clothing sector. It can seem like opposite aspects but through research on the subject, the idea reveals itself as something wanted by the market and as a really interesting path to explore for Indoor/Outdoor enthusiasts. In addition to recycled materials, NOSC creates something unique in using Ricin oil instead of Petrol to obtain performant textiles. This plant can grow in dry areas with no water as weeds, so it has lots of benefits. We should say now that all products come from Europe (France and Portugal) with a low area of transport if you compare it to other brands.
Furthermore, considering new problematics such as circular economy or non-waste represented by the well-known hashtag #reuse, NOSC wants to reduce trash as much as possible. Thus, the difficulty of the brand is that mixed textile products create less performant and breathable clothing. That could apply to streetwear clothing but NOSC prefers to stay focused on the link between technicality and eco-designed for physical activities. However, researches are still open as for unused textile cuttings.
