More Nature for better Health

A recent study delivered by the European Centre for Environment and Mental Health at the University of Exeter reveals therapeutic benefits of Nature on the quest of wellbeing, good health and curing an illness. Indeed, a green environment can reduce stress, blood pressure, isolation feeling and improve the immune system, self-awareness and mood at the same time. This isn’t new but now we are capable to say for how long people need to be in Nature. According to this study, if someone goes outdoors in Nature, for at least 2 hours weekly, they could feel and benefit from the positive effects during the rest of the week.

Considering these results, among others, many urban neighbourhoods try to create more parks and some companies set up green spaces for employees’ wellbeing increasing good energy at work.

Coming from Scandinavia, we notice the development of forest schools as well, applied to the USA for daily Outdoor Learning. Furthermore, we can see more groups of forest therapy guides aiming to create immersive wellbeing experiences in Nature.

Other research and studies will surely enrich the aspects explained above in positive ways, putting Nature back at the centre of Human Being’s Lives by enhancing its preservation and its respect.
